The Many Appearances of Social Housing in the Middle East
Professor Kivanç Kilinç will present his current research focusing on the transnational cultural and material exchanges that shape contemporary social housing practices in Turkey and the Middle East. He has recently published two new edited volumes: The Urban Refugee: Space, Agency, and the New Urban Condition with Bülent Batuman, and Social Housing in the Middle East: Architecture, Urban Development and Transnational Modernity with Mohammad Gharipour. Kivanç Kilinç is Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Izmir Institute of Technology and will be speaking via Zoom.
