Support for Our Faculty
The Provost's Office is a central resource for questions large and small to foster success in your teaching and research activities. If the Office can't provide an immediate answer then they will seek to connect you with other faculty of staff members in the Tri-College community with relevant expertise. Please click on the subheadings in the menu to the left for specific resources related to research and teaching. Below are highlights from supports for scholarship and teaching.
The College's program of Professional Leaves for continuing members of the faculty reflects a strong institutional commitment to faculty scholarship and to the relationship between research and teaching. The Faculty Travel and Research pools support the scholarly development of faculty members through a yearly allocation of $2,200 (Faculty Travel Pool) and $700 (Faculty Research Pool). The Provost's office is also proud to sponsor scholarship in our community through the Works-In-Progress (WIP) lunches. The WIP lunches feature two faculty working on a similar topic but from different disciplines to informally share their projects with the community.
The Teaching and Learning Institute (TLI) provides forums for the exploration of classroom practice. The TLI embraces a partnership model of faculty and student academic development. Another support for teaching is the interdisciplinary and interactive 360 Program. The 360 Program builds on ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø's strong institutional history of learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom, placed within a rigorous academic framework. If you are interested in designing a 360 cluster visit the Faculty FAQ page and contact Sarah Theobald at X5509.
The College is also pleased to partner with to provide a comprehensive set of resources and programs that individual faculty members can tailor to their own interests and needs. The College's institutional membership provides access to the Center's webinars, monthly writing challenges, Faculty Success program and mentoring programs. These opportunities are available to all faculty, post-docs, graduate students and staff.
