A comprehensive program for first-generation, limited-income, and undocumented+ students.
Breaking Barriers is led by the Assistant Dean of Support & Belonging as part of the Impact Center. The group provides mentorship, programming, support services, and resources to first-generation, limited-income, and undocumented+ students (FGLI+).
Who We Support
FGLI Students
First-generation and limited-income students can find a community of peers and mentors who can provide guidance, support, and resources to help navigate the college experience.
Undocu+ Students
If you're a student who is undocumented, DACA, or TPS, Breaking Barriers can provide a safe space to discuss concerns, hopes, and dreams. Explore resources, scholarships & fellowships.
How We Support
Joining the Community
Breaking Barriers Scholars may identify with one or more of the following experiences and are part of a larger community composed of peers, staff, and faculty at ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø who share these experiences. All eligible incoming students are initially invited to the program; however, anyone may opt-in at any point throughout their time at ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø.
To be eligible, students must identify with at least one of the following,
- First-Generation
- Limited-Income
- Undocumented+/DACA
